Hey! I want this too!

This is so clever!! If I had this I would never ever leave my mount of clothes on the bed again! I'd leave this on the floor! On this mat! :D

"...just put the laundry rug on the floor and it instantly becomes an attractive mat. But it's more than that because you simply throw your dirty washing onto it as you would any floor surface and when the time comes as you can't take the steaming pile overtaking your room you simply grab the handles of the laundry rug and hey presto, it converts into a great bag complete with all your dirty washing inside ready to drop off...chords around the edge of the rug are pulled together to form a handy carry bag for transporting the lot to the washing machine. It's a bedroom must have for lazy people everywhere!...more

How deep the Father's love for us!

Just 2 things for this post:

1.God's love is just so amazing!
2.I will never, ever outgive the Lord. Physically, emotionally, spiritually, $$-ly.

This lady of leisure

“…Don’t miss the sunset. You’ll fall in love with the city again as well as the person that you’re with. So remember to bring the right person!”
Part of the audio recording at the Menara Kuala Lumpur (Menara Kuala Lumpur)

Just got back from a four day vacation over the weekend in KL with relatives. Did the whole tourist thing. Also walked up and down Bintang Walk more times then I ever want to again. Lined up for skybridge tickets for the twin towers. Asked directions to almost everywhere. Got mistaken for a Singaporean.

We (aunt, cousin and I) were wondering why there wasn’t much night-life..realised o the last morning that the roads behind the Walk were where all the people were. -_-

But still, is live music so sadly absent in Malaysia? Aren’t there any jazz clubs around?

There was also this large very Hong Kong movie style club nearby. Complete with gaudy gold décor and cheesy name. :D

Went for an MPO matinee (Mozart, conducted by Matthias Bamert with Nancy Argenta as soprano soloist) on Sunday afternoon…had seats in the front row!! (front row seats are not exactly the best for orchestra performances :P). Anyways, we were seated right in front of the strings-so this gal was happy! Could literally see the vibrato and hear the fingers sliding across the strings when they shifted positions. Had absolutely no view of the woodwinds tho’. Also observed that many in the string section were married. (Totally unrelated to Mozart heh)

(In)dependence?

Here’s something to share with you,

"Notice how God will wither up every other spring you have. He will wither up your natural virtues, He will break up your confidence in your natural powers, He will wither up your confidence in brain and spirit and body, until you learn by practical experience that you have no right to draw your life from any other source other than the tremendous reservoir of the resurrection life of Jesus Christ. Thank God if you are going through a drying-experience!

Our Lord never patches up our natural virtues, He replaces the whole man from within, until the new man is shown in the new manners. God does not give new manners; we make our own, but we have to make them out of the new life (Ephesians 4:22-32). Every detail of our life is to be absolutely under the control of the new disposition which God planted in us by means of identification with Jesus Christ, and we shall no longer be allowed to utter “can’t.” There is no such word as “can’t” in a Christian’s vocabulary if he is rightly related to God; there is only one word and that is “I can.”
~oswald sanders;biblical psychology-chapter IV~

I used to think that freedom was being able to exercise independence, to have my say…free will!
What kind of freedom is this, that requires recognition of my human-ness.
How did dependence turn out to be the key to freedom?
It's hard, learning to let go.

Other random stuff:

Everyone had a blog these days!! (Exaggeration of course)

But really, disputes aside-blogs are a wonderful way of catching up with your friends’ lives….and the cute guy, whom you are too afraid to go up to and say ‘Hi’ . :D

Am also not going to surf the net at all this week-contemplated an entire fast from the computer..but I have emails to send-lah. So compromised and settled for no net surfing. Must wean myself from the habit of reading too much online. It’s really time-consuming, not to mention anti-social.

Not at work today, due to an infected pharynx and larynx-otherwise known as a sore throat. My sore throats always very the drama-wan. Have to speak in whispers/low sexy voice/ not at all.

Typing this post out on my laptop :P
Whee!! New toy! New toy!!
*big goofy grin*
It's not a Macbook, but still...am happyhappyhappy.

A tad afraid that I’m going to accidentally do something wrong and kill it tho'.

Okaaay..

Was just thinking these past few days about getting better/more relevant QT material.
Happened to read Ben's blogpost about Oswald Chambers's "My Utmost for His Highest"
Got an email from tienli who also mentioned in passing how she was using Chambers' material for devotions...
Reminded myself to check out his stuff online....
Procrastinated..
But when I got back from work tonight, look what was waiting on the table:

Seriously, I have no idea what to think or say.
Then again, it might be pure coincidence.
But complete works wei!! And I hadn't mentioned anything to anyone.
Uncle Jit Tong had dropped by earlier and brought the book along. Seems that mum had asked him a few months back if he had any books that would offer a christian viewpoint on pychology

L.O.V.E

Ah love...you can fully comprehend it?

Friday, September 01, 2006

Did I just say that?

So yea, sometimes words slip out of your mouth before you've thought carefully about them, planned and polished the follow-up sentences-as well as check for grammatical mistakes.
Lapses in commonsense..or...bimbo moments. ;)

For example:
(all excerpts from perfectly normal, intelligent conversations)
A representing the other person.

Me:Yeah, I have a friend from Japan as well who did that.
A:Which part of Japan is your friend from?
Me:Hm..I don't remember. She stays on the island part.
A:Actually..you do realize that Japan is made up of islands??

Me:Ah that's great.Is the laptop waterproof?
A:Um....no.

And more...but I still want to have some dignity left at the end of the day lah..:P

[edit] Someone also taught me the bimbo cheer!!Hahaha..so much for feminism and all those years of fighting for equality among the sexes. :P
