rant

Can't anyone google for anything without being hit with a billion links to view porn?
Its wrong and twisted! I'm going to say it like it is...its not a celebration of the body or whatever politically correct term people want to use.
And no, you can't compromise on viewing porn..don't give me crap about soft porn!
*rants*
Ok..am done ranting.
Look at what sin has done to the world. Its made everything that was originally beautiful and good a twisted, sick version.
God help us.

quizzes!

I stumbled across this site today..Cooking To Hook Up.
Its so funny! Never thought that something like this existed...its actually a book (a book was written about it!!And there are people who BOUGHT it!! Jon Mah..this is the book for you-lah...then you won't have to think so hard about what questions to ask already..lol)
Its like the complete guide for a guy-what to cook, what kind of flowers to buy, what to do on a date etcetc..all neatly divided into the type of girl and so on...
Its just so....sad.
So..since I had nothing to do, I took the quiz :P

Moderation in all things, excess in nothing.

-- Epicurus

Imagine that the Girl Next Door moved to the big city. Think of Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally. She's America's sweetheart with an urban sensibility. She's a post-Christian spiritualist, a pre-Monica Clintonite, and a dues-paying member of at least one social-change organization like NOW, Planned Parenthood, or the Sierra Club. You won't find her at an Earth First or PETA meeting, though. Those are the Granola Girl's stomping grounds. Progressive Girls want the world to be a better place, but they live out their politics in a moderate, left-of-center way.

If you are going to date a Progressive Girl, the one sin you can commit is to be a chameleon. Molding your opinions to fit hers will lose her respect. One very positive thing you can do is offer her new experiences -- the Progressive Girl is fearless about trying new things. Whether it's pluralism, skydiving, Asian peanut sauce, or this book, the Progressive Girl is always looking for new ideas.

She Might Be a Progressive Girl if:

1. She drives: a small SUV but really wishes it got better mileage; once she can
get a good hybrid, she will.
2. She can talk for more than ten minutes about: just about anything.
3. She begins her sentences with: "Susan Sarandon says..."
4. She'd never: pass up the chance for a new experience.
5. She owns any of the following: a water filter, a tabletop fountain, an acre of rain
forest, a mutt from the pound.

*oh yea..an acre of rainforest..I wouldn't mind that :P*

Got this one from Yen's blog:
The picture of dorian gray
Oscar Wilde: The Portrait of Dorian Gray.
You are a
horror novel from the world of dandies, rich
pretty boys, art and aesthetics, and
intellectual debates between ethical people and
decadent pleasure-seekers. You value beauty and
pleasure but realize their dangers, as well.
Which literature classic are you?

shot

My internal clock is so screwed.
I came back yesterday at 5 with a massive headache. It was so bad I actually resorted to banging my head against a wall.Literally.
Tried to sleep it off until dinner..waking up with an even bigger headache.Took painkillers and went back to sleep.

Woke up at am - hungry but minus the headache..had a snack..went back to bed.
Woke up at 3am...and stayed awake until 7!!
Headache came back -_-
Had no choice but to get up (well..it was morning..) had breaky and shot off to pick up aunt from the the highway toll.
Got back..helped get house ready for visiting relatives...
Totally crashed and slept till 12 after that.
HEADACHE STILL HERE.
Damn.

muse

Lord, You know how much I want to know so much
In the way of answers and explanations I have cried and prayed
And still I seem to stay In the middle of life’s complications
All this pursuing leaves me feeling like I’m chasing down the wind
But now it’s brought me back to You And I can see again

This is everything I want This is everything I need
I want this to be my one consuming passion
Everything my heart desires Lord, I want it all to be for You, Jesus
Be my magnificent obsession

So capture my heart again Take me to depths I’ve never been
Into the riches of Your grace and Your mercy
Return me to the cross And let me be completely lost
In the wonder of the love That You’ve shown me
Cut through these chains that tie me down to so many lesser things
Let all my dreams fall to the ground Until this one remains

You are everything I want And You are everything I need
Lord, You are all my heart desires You are everything to me

You are everything I want You are everything I need
I want You to be my one consuming passion
Everything my heart desires Lord, I want it all to be for You
I want it all to be for You
SCC Magnificent Obsession

thinks: most of the time.. I'm more obsessed about being obsessed

Turning 20..

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Okay..you people can stop with the 'Aunty Mich' chants already :P
I'm officially 20..and 2 days! And for all those who have asked how it feels to be 20- it feels 20-lah! I have also come to the conclusion (by way of my fantastic math and physics skills) that 20 is the maximum age one can feel.So I will umumkan right here, that next year I will be 20 also..the year after that...and the year after..and etc etc.

A big 'thank you' for all the sms-es and calls! (ben, ning, joel, joyce, hengkwang)
They went all through the day..seriously!

(Heh-dnaers..I sense a tradition of snowballing birthday smses taking form altho' you might want to double-check the blurer people..Daniel told some people that it was 8pm to sms -_-)

It was a fun day...had to give tuition to my neighbours' kid in the afternoon and went out for tea with Tienli and K'chai.
Heh..I almost busted my own suprise birthday thingy.

Asking why we had to go for tea at such an odd hour..why they suddenly developed an affection for the tea-place and refused to go home...why my sis's band members called with suddenly developed problems about timetransportchords...
And tienli! YOU! What-
lah, call and then tell me that your sister wants to talk to my sister -_-
Hm..this also proves that I'm quite blur :P
Well..suppose it was in return for all the b'day suprises I pulled on others..
I like suprises! Nice ones that is...

Contemplating

I wonder if I'm lazy by nature...

Sometime I'm worried that I'll never amount to anything in life. Mediocrity is like suffocating slowly. But then again, what standards does one use to measure accomplishments?

Update

Its been raining these past few days. Cold. I demand the sun back!*thumps table*

We started work on the youth centre today. Clearing 15 years of filth is just so...fun. :)
Knocking down partitions, ripping out the boards, tearing the tint off the windows.
I've also never seen people so excited over termites.

Life is interesting, a bit slow but interesting.
Am also reading McLaren's 3rd book..yay! Homosexuality! I wonder if my pastor should know about me reading this.. :P
More pictures when I get to figure out why the comp won't let me upload pics..grr..

Creation

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I had a sudden urge to bake last Christmas..ended up making batches of cookies-which turned out pretty good :P
Originally meant to be given out to friends,I was too exhausted to decorate, wrap and drive around to give them..heh..talk about being lazy.
Ok,this blog entry does go somewhere-just bear with me-lah

You've ever made cookies? Or anything at all, a card, photoframe..painted a mug for your dad...the kerja kursus project in sec 3?

It's an good feeling, making something. Creating something physical that would only exist in your mind otherwise. In a way, I see God in that.

"So God created people in his own image; God patterned them after himself;male and female he created them"
Gen 1:27

God created.

The full impact of that word never quite got to me before.
What we create as humans are inspired by what is already there.
Nature, photographs, books, people...
When God created,he did it out of nothing at all. It was all in him. Every single living and non-living thing came forth from him. Everything brand new. Never seen or made before.
Something that previously never existed came into being.

The world is more destructive than anything else nowadays. Maybe that's why we hungrily seek out objects of beauty...we strive to create pockets of all things good.

Creation can't stray too far from its Creator...but it sure had messed up badly enough.
Sometimes I'm just so ashamed of the whole human race-amazed at our folly, at God's mercy and grace. But there are still days where little flickers of hope remain..in the love I see in my family, in the support I get from my friends.

Yet I am confident that I will see the Lord's goodness while I am here in the land of the living. Wait patiently for the Lord.Be brave and courageous.Yes,wait patienly for the Lord.
Ps 27:13-14
